ABOUT US

East Cherokee Community Church is a non-denominational, evangelical congregation. Our name is a reflection of the kind of church we want to be--a safe place for people to grow in Christ. We began as Promised Land Bible Church in 1981 and changed our name in March 2006 to better identify with the people we serve.

Our vision is "to provide a safe environment in East Cherokee county where people can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ." That growth takes place through our eight ministry dynamics--worship, fellowship, discipleship, relationship, friendship, partnership, stewardship and leadership.

A Leadership Council serves as the governing board, made up of Shepherds and Trustees. The Shepherd is responsible for the spiritual oversight of the flock, the ministries of the church and its doctrine. Mike McCrum is our Shepherd (Pastor). Trustees oversee financial affairs, the church property and by-laws. They include Brett Little (Chairman), Art Gard and Parvin Ledford.

Mike McCrum has been our Pastor since 2003. As spiritual leader, Mike sets the course of direction as "keeper of the vision" and watches over the day-to-day care and operation of the church. He is a 1985 graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program through Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Mike and his wife Debbie have four children and have lived in Cherokee County since 1986.

E3C is located on 18 acres and features a 200-seat auditorium, a fellowship hall, offices, educational wing, youth center and bridal room. Outdoor amenities include a large children’s playground, a covered pavilion suitable for picnics, cookouts, group meetings, receptions and reunions, plus wide-open playing fields for sports or camping and a mile-long walking trail.
